We have an active weekends away programme for those that are interested in exploring other areas of the country.
The number of weekends away depends upon demand, but we often put on camping trips through the Spring, in addition to our normal Easter and August Bank holiday main trips.
To book onto one of our weekends away we do insist that you are fully paid up Ramblers members. (Join)
Bank account details will be advised on enquiring, all monies paid will go through the Hike Essex bank account.
We are happy to coordinate car shares, should anyone wish to.
Watch this space, for the last few years we have organised camping and other short trips over the summer. This years trips will be organised over the spring. We are always looking for volunteers to help organise and open to suggestions on where our members would like to go.
August Bank Holiday
One of our traditional main trips of the year, the long weekend allowing us to go further afield to explore. As we are travelling further we look to hire a hostel for the groups sole use in case of bad weather and for those that don’t want to rough it. For August 2017 we will be going to a YHA in Dartmoor.
To give an idea of where we go, recent trips have visited; Exmoor, North Wales, Peak District, Lake District, Breacon Beacons, New Forest, Isle of Wight, & North York Moors. In addition to short weekends in Battle, Bury St-Edmunds, Stiffkey, Southwold, Canterbury, Orford, & Elveden Forest.
