Saturday/Sunday 14th/15th October – NNAS Bronze Navigation Course (Chelmsford)

The course is for a maximum of 12 people. The price is £90 for the two days tuition which includes loan of equipment such as maps, compasses and all course registration and documentation. We need to take a packed lunch on both days but tea, coffee, biscuits etc is included in the price. The course starts at about 9am finishing about 4pm each day. First day is based around Sandford Mill in Chelmsford with a second day spent putting what we’ve learnt in the classroom in to practice.

The Bronze National Navigation Award is a practical hands-on award. It is aimed at people with no navigation experience whether you are new to the outdoors or have been relying on others, guidebooks or easy well-defined routes. The syllabus of the Bronze National Navigation Award teaches navigation in the countryside using paths tracks and other linear features. Basic map interpretation and compass work is also included.
